MediCopia Specimen Collection requires the caregiver to scan the patient\u2019s identification bracelet prior to specimen collection, thereby insuring positive patient identification and preventing the possibility of collecting a specimen from the wrong patient. Upon collecting the specimen, MediCopia prints bar-coded labels at the bedside eliminating the possibility of mislabeling a specimen with another patient\u2019s label. After collecting the specimens, MediCopia transfers the collector ID and date\/time of collection back to the laboratory information system. If the caregiver cannot successfully collect the specimens then MediCopia updates the LIS with the \u201cno draw\u201d reasons. By incorporating these enhancements, caregivers experience dramatic workflow improvement.<\/span><\/p>\n Lattice has been leading in the PPID market since 1998.
